By John McClure Jr.
Rise Up, Renew and Rejoice! These three words resonated in the hearts of many this past weekend at this year’s Celebration of Gospel LIVE at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The accomplished host, Steve Harvey, once again filled the air with laughter and love as he introduced some of today’s favorite Gospel and R&B artist. Be sure to tune into BET’s Celebration of Gospel on Sunday, April 1st 8PMEST/7PMCST
Noted performances by:
Light Records recording artist Ricky Dillard & New G rocked the stage singing ‘He Turned It’ featuring Johnny Gill.
The Living Legend himself- Kirk Franklin with the innovative Mali Music performed ‘Give Me’. EPIC is all I can say!
Mr. Isaac Carree gave us a compelling performance of his #1 hit “In The Middle.” Joining him was style connoisseur Mr. Fonzworth Bentley. This was one of the best performances in my book. It was just fun and exciting!
James Fortune & Fiya reminded us to PRAISE NOW…It Could Be Worse” LeAndria Johnson & Zacardi Cortez tore us up! Need I say more??
The lovely Jessica Reedy & R&B legend Faith Evans sung “Doctor Love” and it was brilliant.
A riveting performance by R&B singing sensation Ledisi enamored with grace & power as she ministered “Holy One”. This was the one of many popular hits sung by the legendary Tramaine Hawkins.
A heartfelt performance by Kelly Price as she remembered her friend and icon, Whitney Houston singing “Jesus Loves Me”
Hi! I have a question in regards to the CELEBRATION OF GOSPEL yearly line up. Why Is it that nobody in the Clark/Moss dynasty ever perform? Dorinda has a new project and so does KIKI. They have the same ole same ole every year. I’m just saying.
