TYRA BANKS AND AMBER ROSE TO GUEST STAR ON SEASON 2 OF BLACK-ISH

“black-ish” Show Creator Kenya Barris is excited to work with Tyra Banks and Amber Rose who will appear in upcoming episodes during Season 2.

Banks will portray a pop star in an episode slated to air in early 2016. The talented supermodel and producer has played several memorable roles in television and film, including “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Higher Learning,” “Coyote Ugly” and “Glee.”

“Tyra Banks will play the role of international pop star GiGi Franks, a character who bears little resemblance to the supermodel herself, aside from their rhyming names, high level of celebrity, and life-long friendships with me and the character based on me,” says Barris. “Also, they kind of look alike. I couldn’t be more excited to work with my best friend.”

Rose will appear in an upcoming episode as Dominique, a past love interest of Charlie (Deon Cole). The episode is slated to air in early November. Rose recently appeared in the romantic comedy, “Sister Code.”

“We selected Amber Rose for the role not only for her talent, beauty and wide-reaching media presence, but also because she’ll play Charlie’s love interest, an obviously unrealistic scenario evident to anyone who’s ever seen either one of them,” teases Barris.  “Amber was a pleasure to work with – naturally funny and high-energy. We’d love to have her back and may ask her to move her apartment onto our set.”

“black-ish” stars Anthony Anderson as Andre “Dre” Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson, Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson and Laurence Fishburne as Pops.

Banks and Rose join a star-studded line-up of Season 2 guests that to date includes Zendaya and Michael Strahan. “black-ish” airs Wednesday at 9:30/8:30c on ABC. For more information, visit ABC.com/black-ish.
