Root Magazine’s Latest Issue Goes Digital

COVID-19 has taken a toll on the entire world, but the music industry has suffered tremendously. Many artists rely on touring, pop-ups and fan engagement to pay their bills and unless you’re Jay Z, Beyoncé or Kanye, you don’t really have to worry about money like that.
This year’s Stellar Awards went virtual for the first time and in spite of the current state of the world, they produced a great show. As many of you know, the production of Root Magazine on the print side, is surrounded around events like The Stellar Awards, BMI Trailblazers, I Hear Music, The Grammys, The Doves, The MERGE Summit and any many other events. And although we have always released our magazines digitally, this year was quite different.
Although you were not able to receive your physical copy of Root Magazine this year, we still created a conversant piece that featured The Clark Sisters and their offspring, Kierra Sheard.
