Tye Tribbett Talks About Affair

Gospel Superstar, Tye Tribbett, finally broke his one year silence about the extra-marital affair that was speculated to have led to the demise of his group G.A. and almost ended his 11 year marriage to wife, Shante. Tye Tribbett struggled with is voice during the interview due to hoarseness but he was very transparent in his revelation. He described the reason he cheated was “being drawn away by his own lust” and being insecure. “I aint start getting cute until I started getting money”, Tribbett said with a hint of laughter. “I wanted attention.. looked for it and prepared for it even while I was getting it from my wife, but it wasn’t enough”. Tribbett named Bishop George Searight, Pastor Ken Robinson and Joyce Meyer as people that gave spiritual guidance to the couple during their restoration process. “I heard Joyce Meyer say that lust has no conscience”, said Tribbett. He also said that his wife fell to the same sin but did not go into detail he and wife Shante are in a “surreal place” and they pray more than ever before.
With regards to the group that made him famous, G.A. (Greater Anointing), he said the reason he ended the group had nothing to do with his extra-marital affair, but more to do with prayer. On day 50 of a prayer sabbatical, God revealed to him that he is doing a new thing…a fresh thing in his life. Thus the title of his new single “Fresh”. “The hardest thing was releasing my mom as my manager and no longer ministering with G.A. but death to something brings life to something else”.

and these are the people who are represting us christians in these least days, as if being a follwer of christ isnt enough,we gotta deal with this too. It just shows once a little bit of spotlight gets too your head you really do act a fool. I really do like his songs aswell, but this is shocking.
Please, let’s stop acting as if when people get saved they are gauranteed to never sin again. Thats not what the bible says. The difference is we have restoration, hope and a savior to repair us(the breached). Tye fell and God is compassionate to forgive him. He says He’s slow to anger. Therefore, let him who hasn’t sinned at all cast the first stone. I saw Tey last nite in concert and he’s still anointed! He’s in a new place of worship and it was sooooo refreshing to see. Took me to another place. :0 Thank Tye and Shante for being so transparent and letting all things work together!
We are all human and make mistakes. Would people think the same way if it was some regular old Joe. This just goes to show we can’t make the preacher or artists our god. That is why people get disappointed and offended when they do wrong. We have to take the message they were anointed to give and apply it to our life not make them OUR god!! Thank goodness the lord is an understanding, loving, forgiving god! I wish him and his wife the best…
What you are saying may be true, but one thing you have to realize is though he may be a Christian, he is also human. Christians sin too, but its more about what you do after you have sin. If you repent and never turn back, then that is a sign of growth and God will be pleased. There is no perfect or pure Christian out there. We all mess up, its part of growing closer to God.
It blessed me to see/hear Tye giving his testimony about how he allowed the devil to trick him and then decided that the devil was a liar once he counted the cost. When he added it all up he knew his worth was in trying to live holy and righteous as called called us to be. For the word doesnt tell us to be good but to be holy. Praise God for Tye’s humble heart I can feel it is music and when he speaks like never before and I know that God not only is doing a knew thing but he giving him double for his trouble in Jesus name.

tye is one talented individual with a unique flow and spirit. PLEASE TYE GET BACK TO THAT PLACE OF VICTORY…so we can hear more of GOD in you…..FRESH is not in your roots…Get back to the soul full flow of victory PLEASE…we luv ya……u da bob!!! WE gon take it back, we gon bless the Lord!!!!!!!!!!
to the people who were judging him all I have to say is yes you have the right to judge him, JUST AS LONG AS YOU HAVE NO SIN IN YOU AND YOU ARE PERFECT. When you are in the spotlight, that’s when it is much easier for your weaknesses and your vulnerabilities to come to light. We who are not in the spotlight can privately talk about our issues with our pastors and its not as serious, but you also have issues and you are also capable of doing whatever sin you condemn. Tye blessed me with his testimony at the AME church outside DC a few months ago when he talked about this issue. Yes he messed up, but there is no doubt in my mind that this man has always and will always love God and that is one thing that he is not faking!
People need to stop being so quick to point the finger. Let’s also not forget that judging others is seen as a sin also in God’s eyes. No person is perfect and if he and his wife are truly working things out with each other and are repenting then that’s a sure sign that he is a true follower of God. Let us not also forget that he had also took the first step in repentance by confessing his sins, yet it is people in society who makes it hard for us Christians to say ‘Yes I am a sinner’. Sitting here belittling him is the same thing as you committing fornication for in God’s eyes, sin has no weight. Sin is sin. All we can do is pray for him and know that God has Tye in His hands. Praise be to the Lord my God, my Savior, my friend, my everything!
These Gospel stars are STARS like any other, they do the same sins as anyone else, so when something happens it does not shock me at all. Its all about the fame & money these days- u can see that by what these so called Christians wear- they look more like R&B singers, then Gospel stars.
Those people YES are our leaders but they’re human too. No bodies perfect not even the damn President now what?
