Jazz/Gospel trumpeter will release her sophomore project this week with features from Dorinda Clark-Cole and Dwayne Woods

New York (May 2, 2011)–Stellar nominated trumpeter, Syreeta Thompson releases her sophomore project, In His Presence (TL Music Group), May 3, 2011.  The album can be purchased on iTunes.com or www.TrumpetLady.com.

Thompson is no stranger to the music industry as she has studied under the world renowned Wynton Marsalis, and one of the most recognizable contralto voices in Gospel, Dorinda Clark-Cole.  The talented instrumentalist has toured with Beyonce, Lauryn Hill and Tito Puente; plays weekly with the Love Fellowship Choir under the leadership of Bishop Hezekiah Walker; and is currently the Department Chair of Instrumental Music for Cicely Tyson School of Fine and Performing Arts.

“This project is a reflection of my heart and my daily walk….I am truly living In His Presence,” shares Thompson.  “I am blessed that years ago my mother saw a vision for me (playing the trumpet) which has shaped my existence, my passion for music, and certainly my relationship with God.”

The project is a mix of her Jazz roots combined with her spirit for Gospel.  Although she is dubbed The Trumpet Lady, Thompson lends her voice to some of the albums already popular tunes including the leading single “Victory”, “You Still Love Me” a powerful exhortation of God’s love, and the upbeat, churchy, New Orleans inspired “Church Medley”, among others.  Other notable tracks include the title track and single, “In His Presence” featuring Dorinda Clark-Cole and “Make a Way” with Dwayne Woods.
