Hezekiah Walker’s Choir Fest Is Back!!!
January 8, 2013
By Hasan James
For the second year in a row, Bishop Hezekiah Walker Presents: Choir Fest 2013! Choir Fest, which is a newly added event during Stellar Awards weekend, is the brain child of Choir Master, Hezekiah Walker and will feature some of the best established and up and coming choirs in the nation, such as: James Hall & Worship & Praise, J.J. Hairston and YP, Darrell Petties, Kevin Lemmons and Higher Calling, Charles Butler & Trinity and many more. There will also be special appearances by fellow artists and notable choir directors, Ricky Dillard, Donald Lawrence, Vashawn Mitchell and a special performance by Tye Tribbett that you would not want to miss. Choir Fest had such a huge turnout last year, that many people had to be turned away, forcing it to be moved to Mt. Zion’s main annex this year. The event is sponsored in part by Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound and is totally FREE!
For all of you aspiring choir directors and singers, this is the event to be at. Hezekiah Walker has revolutionized the choir sound with choir anthems like “Souled Out”, “Clean Inside”, “Power Belongs to God”, “Lift Him Up”, I Need You to Survive” and “Jesus Is The Light.” Many skeptics have been saying that with the emergence of Praise and Worship music, choir music is a dying breed. However, events such as Choir Fest proves that choir music is here to stay and is and always will be a huge factor in Sunday morning worship.
Will you be at Choir Fest 2013?
