Los Angeles, CA (March 3, 2014) — Award-winning family group THE SHOWERS were the talk of the night after rendering a stunning rendition of their hit gospel song ‘BETTER’ at the ‘Gospel Goes to Hollywood’ Pre-Oscar event on Friday night (February 28th).

Wowing an audience filled with a “who’s who” of Hollywood, the Louisiana born collective made such a splash with their performance that Grammy® winning gospel great Donnie McClurkin followed it with an impromptu reprise. Joined by Grammy®-nominated R&B diva Kelly Price, the two powerhouse vocalists kept the crowd entranced with the tune for the rest of the night.

“Better”, the second single from the group’s self-titled debut album, was released to iTunes on January 28th and quickly rose to the Top 30 on the iTunes Christian/Gospel Top 100 Chart. Written and produced by RCA Inspiration recording artist Deon Kipping, the song followed the group’s dynamic lead single, ‘Praise Your Way Through’, which peaked in the Mediabase Gospel Songs Chart’s Top 30 with an accumulative listening audience of over 1 million.

The Showers was featured in the latest issue of Root Magazine with Kierra Sheard gracing the cover, in an article entitled “Shower Down”.The group’s self-titled debut album is slated for release later this year.
