ABOUT HOPE FOR HARVEST

Hope For Harvest is a beacon of community advancement in Charlotte, North Carolina, with roots spanning more than 40 years. Hope For Harvest first began its start as a week-long fundraiser as an effort to fund and continue the services provided by Community Outreach Christian Ministries & The Harvest Kitchen after the passing of our founder’s mother, Pastor Barbara Brewton whom founded COCM. Pastor Barbara Brewton was responsible for feeding over 100,000 families throughout the city of Charlotte, leaving behind a powerful legacy of hope, service, and faith in the community.

Inspired by her mother’s unwavering commitment to underserved communities, Catherine Brewton officially founded the Barbara Brewton Hope For Harvest Youth Center in 2016. Since then, the organization has grown into a dynamic force for change, dedicated to equipping youth with essential resources and enriching opportunities. The center is designated as a safe and inspiring space for underserved youth to come and feel seen, heard and grow. The Center provides free after-school programs, an eight-week summer enrichment program, monthly community events, and annual holiday initiatives. Youth are encouraged to explore their creativity through music, dance, performing arts, and life development programs that spark imagination and build confidence. Beyond education and enrichment, the center operates a weekly clothing pantry and provides care kits of HOPE packed with hygiene essentials ensuring families have access to essential living items and services.

Rooted in legacy and fueled by vision, Hope For Harvest continues to break cycles, build futures, and carry forward the legacy of heart, hustle, and impact that Pastor Barbara Brewton began decades ago.
