Last night the 2011 Grammy nominations were announced in grand style during a LIVE concert at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with veteran rapper LL Cool J as host. Chart topping rapper Eminem leads the pack with an expected 10 nods! Other top nominees include Bruno Mars, Lady GaGa and Jay-Z. In some of the gospel categories, nominees include: new artists Forever Jones, Israel, Kirk Whalum, VaShawn Mitchell and BeBe & CeCe Winans in the Best Gospel Performance Category. In the Best Traditional Gospel Album category the nominees include Vanessa Bell Armstrong (The Experience), Shirley Caesar (A City Called Heaven), Patty Griffin (Downtown Church), Marvin Sapp (Here I Am) and Karen Clark Sheard (All In One). The biggest surprise was that one of the biggest gospel songs of the year “Nobody Greater”, was not nominated in the Best Gospel Song Category.
