Sam Roberts and Levites Assembly celebrate 3 years with “Glory” Concert

In this new age of Praise and Worship and Contemporary Gospel, it is hard to find a good, solid Sunday Morning choir that sing with just as much conviction as they do precision. Well, the DMV area has a young man who is adamant about keeping the choir movement alive and he is 29 year- old Sam Roberts and his choir The Levites Assembly, presented an amazing event aptly titled “Glory.”

Last weekend, the choir celebrated their 3rd Anniversary in grand fashion with an intimate group of worshippers at Antioch Church of Christ in Alexandria, Virginia and along with singing  new music like their current single “Reap Now,” they also paid homage to choir masters past and present like Edwin Hawkins penned classic “Search Me Lord” made famous by Ricky Dillard, “More Abundantly,” “Deliver” by JJ Hairston and YP, “Jesus Is The Answer” by the late Andraé Crouch and “Make Me Better,” originally sung by James Cleveland and The Southern Community Choir but made famous by Dr. Charles Hayes and The Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer Choir.

The special guest soloists took “Glory” to another level, as Sunday Best Season 7 finalist, Serena Young, tore the house down with an old James Cleveland classic “Make Me Better.” The anointed April Hall sang an original song appropriately titled “The Return of Glory” and James Ziegler of Pittsburgh, PA took the crowd higher with his version of the Milton Brunson classic “Over and Over. But it was  ironically the incomparable Shawn Bigby (of John P. Kee and New Life fame), that took the concert to the LEVEL NEXT as he rendered the song “Flow of Glory,” written by Roberts. He continued the flow of worship with a medley of “I Really Love The Lord,” “The Anthem,” “You Saved Me,” and “Love Lifted Me.”

Throughout the heartfelt evening, Roberts, who is also a sought after musician and graphic artist, gave his testimony on how he almost died two years ago and even as the Doctor tirelessly tried to find out what was wrong with him, two years later he is fine and claims his healing in Jesus name. Sam Roberts and Levites Assembly are the real deal! The aspiring choir even fasted for a week before the concert and it showed in their presentation, in their song selection and most of all in their anointing. #RootCertified
