Lance Williams is one of the state of New Jersey’s best kept secrets and over the past decade, he has spearheaded one of the most attended and successful retreats in the northeast. The True Worship Retreat took place at the New Vision Full Gospel Baptist Church and was packed with some of today’s most dynamic preachers, speakers and singers. Bishop Noel Jones opened up the conference on Thursday, September 8th, with a life changing word, while Verity recording artist Pastor Jason Nelson ministered in song. Friday’s concert featured a plethora of artists, from independent to mainstream to everything in between. Artists and worship leaders like Petula Beckles, Kevin Jackson, Purcell Robinson, Doobie Powell and headliners J.J. Hairston & YP, Beverly Crawford, Kim Burrell and Donnie McClurkin took the crowd to another level.
McClurkin, who was fresh off a plane from San Francisco joked about Lance not sending a car for him at JFK airport and how he had to take a cab all the way from New York to New Jersey. “The things you do for a friend”, he stated to a packed out crowd of 1,000. The True Worship Retreat Choir was also one of the highlights of the retreat as they did a special tribute to the late Bishop Walter Hawkins. Beverly Crawford showed up and showed out, performing her hit single “It’s About Time for a Miracle”, singing and dancing around the church in pure pentecostal fashion. Kim Burrell, clad in all black, actually did an unintentional sermonette before she even uttered a note encouraging the levites to “encourage one another to study God’s word”. To end off a spirit filled evening, Donnie and Kim did a rousing duet of the Walter Hawkins classic “Be Grateful”. The retreated ended on Saturday afternoon with various workshops and classes. “This year’s conference was a complete success and we know that next year will be bigger and better”, said True Worship Retreat founder, Lance Williams. Stay tuned…
Hi I am musician and Pastor from South Africa. This year was my third time attending the Worship Retreat.Iactually performed there two years ago.
I had a great time this year.I particularly loved Dobbie Powell and a male soloist from JJ Hairston’s Youthful Praise who featured in one song.Wow..is all I can say.The regulars from Lance’s group did an amazing job, especially the lady lead singer.
God bless you Lance.See you next year.
Thank you, I have just been searching for info about this topic for ages and yours is the best I have found out so far. But, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the source?|What i do not understood is in fact how you are no longer really much more well-appreciated than you might be now. You’re so intelligent.
