Naturally as an artist, one would like to be known for their music more than anything else. However, over the past three years, gospel artist Lance Williams has been most known for his True Worship Retreat; a conference that brings together gospel artists, preachers, speakers and music industry executives over the span of three days.

This year the conference was bigger than ever with soul stirring preaching by Dr. John Guns, Tye Tribbett and Liston Page. Shiloh Baptist Church of Plainfield, New Jersey was the home for the conference. Simultaneous concerts held on Friday evening was indeed one of the many highlights of this magnificent weekend featuring “The Women of Worship”, Sherri Jones- Moffett, Martha Munizzi, Dorinda Clark- Cole and Kathy Taylor, who tore the house down with her signature song, “Oh How Precious”. Awards were also given to pastors and leaders of the community during this concert, which was hosted by Pastor Michel White- Haynes and Bishop George Searight. A few steps away the “Next Generation” concert took place in a room full of exuberant youths. Twyse, Bubby Fann, Kierra Sheard, Jonathan Nelson, Mali Music and JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise were all on deck and it was a praise party second to none.

The weekend concluded on Saturday with a an awe-inspiring workshop with moderators, Lance Williams, Jo Jo Pada (Ignition PR), Sam Williams (NGE Consulting) and Khalif Townes (Urban Roundup) giving great insight and key elements for surviving in the gospel music industry. Lance Williams is a selfless man and has definitely put Plainfield, New Jersey on the map as far as conferences go. If you missed this conference, you surely missed a treat!
