The Dell Music Center was the backdrop for a night that consisted of hand clapping, foot stomping, worship and praise. Hosted by Praise 103. 9’s Cee Cee McGhee, the show began with a young worshipper by the name of E. Daniels, who blessed the crowd with original songs from his album like: “Fill Me Up” and “How I Long For You” and ended with Chris Tomlin’s, “Our God”. E. Daniels definitely ushered in the presence of God and made it easy for everyone who followed.
Next up was a Philly favorite, Vicki Yohe. Usually artists save their most popular song as the closing number, but Yohe came out the gate with her smash hit single, “Because of Who You Are” and ended her set with another Top Ten hit, “I’m At Peace”.
It was only right that the leader of the largest church in Philadelphia- Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pastor Alyn E. Waller, grace the stage and he did so in grand fashion as he and a group of singers sang until the power of God came at the Dell Music Center.
The stage was pitch black and the moment we were all waiting for had finally arrived! Jacky, Dorinda and Karen entered stage left as the crowd went wild but where was Twinkie? After about 30 seconds, in walks the creator of the Clark Sisters sound, Twinkie Clark. With JDS (Karen’s son) on the drums, Asaph Ward (writer/producer) on the organ and Twinkie on the keys, it was apparent that The Clark Sisters came to take care of kingdom business.
The sisters opened with their smash hit “Livin”, from their 3 time Grammy winning album, “One Last Time” and they looked and sounded as great as ever. Taking no breaks in between songs, they breezed through a plethora of hit songs like “Blessed and Highly Favored”, “Looking To Get There (Heaven)”, “Angels”, “Miracle”, “You Brought The Sunshine” and many others. It’s been years since The Clark Sisters hit the stage in the City of Brotherly Love and boy did they make up for lost time!
After 40 years of music ministry, The Dynamic Clark Sisters have proved that they are one of the best groups on the planet. Their mother, Mattie Moss Clark, is the creator of the three part harmony and it is evident that she passed that gift down to her daughters. How sweet the sound!
