Steve Harvey Gives Away 1,000 Turkeys in Chicago at Steve and Marjorie Harvey’s Big Turkey Give

CHICAGO, IL (November 19, 2012) – As part of their annual turkey giveaway, philanthropists Steve Harvey and Marjorie Harvey have paired up with Premiere Networks forSteve and Marjorie Harvey’s Big Turkey Give national giveaway, giving away over 6,000 turkeys this year to share with those that may be in need during this holiday of hope and thanksgiving.  Distributing over 5,000 turkeys nationwide through the Steve Harvey Morning Show November 19-20^th, comedian, author, TV and radio host Harvey kicked off Thanksgiving early in Chicago, with a giveaway of 1,000 turkeys on November 17^th.

Hosting an uplifting weekend of service on the campus of Chicago State University, Harvey kicked off Steve and Marjorie Harvey’s Big Turkey Give at the Jones Convocation Center, together with V-103 FM for a four-hour event that distributed 1,000 turkeys among a range of recipients, so Chicago-area families and citizens can prepare a hearty meal to share with loved ones for the holiday.  Distributing to local recipients, local churches, community-based organizations throughout the city of Chicago and more, beneficiaries at the weekend giveaway included single mothers from the Steve Harvey Mentoring Program for Young Men in Chicago, Bread of Life Church, New Beginnings Church of Chicago, Truth & Deliverance International Ministries, Chicago Lights, Resurrection Project, Bethlehem Star Church, Pastors United for Change, 9^th Ward Roseland community, Temple of Glory, CEDA, Chesterfield Community Association, and more.
