It has been five years since we last heard from James Hall and Worship and Praise on the project “Live at Foxwoods.” On this, their latest project- “Trip Down Memory Lane”, James Hall and WAP are in their element. As one iTunes reviewer put it, “Only James Hall and WAP can take their classics and turn them into classics again in 2012.”

The project starts with God Is In Control II and 20 years after we first heard it, it is still a force to be reckoned with, with a little more horns, vocals and groove. Throughout the entire project, fans are hit with one classic WAP hit after the next with songs like: King of Glory, Never Shall Forget, The Blood, Caught Up and God Wants A Yes. One of the highlights of this project happens to be the James Hall penned and lead medley of God Will/I Got To Praise Him.

Overall this project is great and if you are a James Hall and Worship & Praise fan you will not be disappointed. Although some of the songs are a bit different from the first time you heard it, it still does not take away from depth of the songs; in fact, they are more enhanced. The vocals are….dare I say, better than they were 20 years ago and there is a synergy with the band and the music that has not been heard in times past. Usually when you hear a greatest hits album, it is a track list of songs that you already purchased down through the years. However, A Trip Down Memory Lane is a greatest hits album of sorts that offer the listener a LIVE experience like no other.  Did I mention that WAP modulated seven times on “Never Shall Forget”?

A Trip Down Memory Lane is definitely a trip worth paying for!
