Damita is BACK!

Four years after the release of “No Looking Back”, Damita Haddon returns with undoubtedly the best album of her career with “Anticipation”. The 11- song set is stacked with a plethora of contemporary dance tracks like “Won’t Turn Back”, “Praise U Now” and “Super She’ro” and heartfelt songs like “Be Revealed” and “Anticipation”. Damita sounds better than ever before and wrote or co-wrote every song on the album. The background vocals and arrangements are flawless, with help from 23 year old Chicago native, Brandon Avery Smith (Dawn Richard, Lil Mo, Joshua’s Troop), who also co-wrote five songs on the project. The lyrics are timeless and appropriate like on the song “Be Revealed”, Damita pleads, “Lord I come to you humbly as I know how, on my bended knees, my life to you I vow, clean hands and an open heart, that is my desire, Lord please be my guide, under your shadow I will hide”. Her voice is most vulnerable on this track and you definitely hear her heart.

Writing and production go hand in hand and Fred “Blaze” Crawford (Adina Howard, Dave Hollister, B5) did not disappoint, perfectly blending current pop fusion with a sprinkle of R&B to accompany Damita’s contemporary gospel vocals.

On July 24, 2012, the “Anticipation” will be over for YOU but it will be a new beginning for Damita as this solid piece of work shoots straight to the top! As the old saying goes…three is a charm.
