(New York, NY – August 23rd, 2013) – Singer/Songwriter Jonathan McReynolds has had an incredible year. Since the fall 2012 release of his debut album, Life Music, McReynolds has become one of the most talked about new artists with critics, fans, and industry gatekeepers alike, buzzing about the young singer’s musical composition, vocal delivery, stage presence, sincerity, and more. McReynolds has already left an indelible mark on the music industry, having just secured a Dove Award nomination in the Contemporary Gospel/Urban Song of the Year Category for his hit single, “I Love You” from his debut album, Life Music. His newest single, “Lovin’ Me” was the #1 added song at radio last week (8/16/13) and in addition to performing at Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Megafest Conference, McReynolds has just been tapped to be a feature artist at The BET Music Matters Jam at The Dallas Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Thursday, August 29th from 10p-midnight in conjunction with MegaFest.
Life Music debuted at #3 on the Billboard Charts and took the gospel music industry by storm. In the singer’s own words: “The album is about being authentic, genuine, pure and transparent. That’s who I am as a person,” he says. “I’m direct, I’m blunt. I’m not given to cliches or ‘Christianese.’ It’s all about living a life that is worship, as opposed to just relegating it to one day—Sunday worship. Life Music is about encouraging people to live their whole lives, as hard as it is sometimes, working on living their lives for God. That’s what my struggle is about and it’s what my message of encouragement is as well. I was able to write, produce, play 85 percent of the instruments and I saw the songs literally from the ground up. It’s like my heart put out on a CD and I hope people hear and understand that it literally comes from heart.”
Jonathan McReynolds will headline both the MegaYouth event on Thursday, August 29th at 1pm and the BET Music Matters Event on Thursday evening at 10p.
