Brooklyn, New York – April 17, 2012  Brooklyn, New York is home to some of the greatest gospel artists of all times, starting with the Institutional Radio Choir to the legendary Rev. Timothy Wright & The Concert Choir to Brooklyn’s own gospel treasure Hezekiah Walker & The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. In the same vein of Brooklyn gospel lineage is the iconic Professor James Hall and Worship & Praise choir.

On Sunday, April 22, 2012, James Hall & Worship and Praise will relive the glory days of gospel musicwith a “ONE NIGHT ONLY” 25th Silver Anniversary Reunion concert at the famous and historic First A.M.E. Zion Church in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant. That evening, James will take us on a “Trip Down Memory Lane” singing all of his classic hits “God Is In Control,” “The Blood,” “God Wants A Yes,” “Heaven,” “Caught Up” and so many other great hits. Countless gospel music legends, notables and aficionado will be in the house to celebrate with James Hall. Special gospel musical guests include: choir master and Bishop Hezekiah Walker and LFT Choir, musical powerhouses Donald Lawrence and Kurt Carr and The Kurt Carr Singers and new gospel singing sensation Chrystal Rucker. Root Magazine has produced a commemorative journal magazine complete with interviews, favorite James Hall songs and accolades from James’ co-laborers in the gospel and it will be available on the day of the 25th Anniversary concert.

James Hall has proven to be a part of New York’s elite family of “Gospel Royalty” and with his ensemble who, to say the least, are energetic and extremely talented, has an eclectic sense of style and are bold in their musical message about Christ. Professor James Hall & Worship and Praise are that group! Celebrating their 25th Silver Anniversary in the gospel industry, they have reached a milestone which makes them bona fide gospel legends. As the front man and director, James Hall is one of gospel music’s most distinguished and powerful songwriters and choir directors. His musical style and swagger have influenced rising gospel artists such as Tye Tribbett and J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise (who was a part of James Hall & WAP for many years before launching his exciting music career). James is passionate about his music ministry and setting the course for longevity in gospel music has been his focus. The group’s energetic performances, great gospel songwriting, and traditional-contemporary flavor have garnered them noted visibility. The many fans they have acquired over their 25-year career span are eagerly anticipating their upcoming project. “God Is in Control – II,” their lead radio single will be debuting on in the coming weeks and will surely become another signature song and a favorite of audiences who won’t get enough of the exuberant arrangement and interactive delivery in which James Hall & WAP is synonymous.
