PROMOTE MUSIC INDUSTRY VETERAN
TO NEWLY EXPANDED ROLE OF VP, MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS
Tyscot Music & Entertainment, Tyscot LOUD and Tyscot Films have promoted Tyscot Music & Entertainment’s Vice President of Promotions Jeff Hargrove to the newly expanded role of Vice President of Marketing and Promotions for all three entities. In this capacity, Hargrove will oversee a staff dedicated to implementing both marketing and radio promotions strategies for the respective firms. In his new role, Hargrove reports directly to company President, Bryant Scott.
Hargrove has been Tyscot Music & Entertainment’s primary radio promotions strategist for twelve years and has served as Vice President of Promotions since 2007. “Jeff is a twenty-year industry veteran with the experience, proven skills and Christ-centered values of which I’m confident will aid him greatly in taking our artists and their projects, our films and our company brands to the next level; an even brighter future,” says Scott.

Hargrove has been an integral part of creating successful marketing and promotion strategies for many of the industry’s most renowned and award winning artists such as The Mighty Clouds of Joy, William Becton, Vickie Winans, Witness, The Christianaires, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Deitrick Haddon, The Rance Allen Group and Anthony Brown & group therAPy to name a few. He is an accomplished musician in his own right and an industry veteran, providing him with the right mix of empathy and technical knowledge that creates a level of comfort with artists which consistently leads to a mutually beneficial professional connection. Hargrove is a savvy strategist who understands the evolving digital marketplace and how to best leverage new platforms and technologies to elevate artists and brands.
The label was founded in 1976 by Craig Tyson and Leonard Scott in order to record their church choir, Christ Church Apostolic Radio Choir. Tyscot now stands as the oldest African-American owned independent faith-based music and Film Company in the nation, which in 2016 will celebrate its fortieth year in business. Over several decades, Tyscot has been the home of some of the industry’s greatest and award winning artists, such as (founder) Dr. Leonard Scott, John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin & the DFW Mass Choir, Witness, Deitrick Haddon, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Bishop Noel Jones and the City of Refuge Sanctuary Choir, The Rance Allen Group, Anthony Brown & group therAPy and Casey J among others.
Recent success has been abundant by way of a partnership with Marquis Boone Enterprises, which yielded the twice nominated GMA Dove Awards artist Casey J with her tremendously successful debut single “Fill Me Up” and the follow up hit single “I’m Yours” of which both are from the equally successful 2015 debut album, The Truth. Further to the incredible success taking place in 2015 has been the Key of A Music, VMAN and Tyscot sophomore release, Everyday Jesus, by the Billboard, ASCAP and multiple Gospel Stellar Award winning ensemble Anthony Brown & group therAPy. The first week of release for Everyday Jesus made history by debuting #1* Billboard Top Gospel Albums, #1* Billboard Christian/Gospel Albums while simultaneously having the hit single “Worth” being #1* per the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs Chart and #1* via the Billboard Gospel Digital Songs Chart all per the Billboard Magazine issue date of August 8, 2015. Everyday Jesus is proving to be a tremendous success of unimaginable proportions as Tyscot prepares for an even brighter future drawing from Isaiah 54:2.
