Two of Gospel music’s finest followed the likes of Neyo and Johnta Austin, Manny Fresh and Scott Storch and Babyface and Teddy Riley, and brought the first ever Gospel Music battle to Instagram while over 98K people watched.

From the beginning, the two artists and pastors let it be known that this was not really a battle but a celebration of one another’s work. “We are not here to compete, I’m here to complete him and he’s here to complete me,” said Walker.

A little after 7:00PM EST, the friendly battle began with many old school fan favorites like: Oh Lord We Praise You, Sweeter Than Anything, The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow, Rain On Us and many others.

Aside from a few sound issues, the night was simply amazing as the Walker and Kee occasionally praised one another for their song selections and a plethora of fans and celebrities joined in on the fun. Super Producers and creators of the Verzus battle, Swizz Beats and Timbaland were in attendance, along with other notables like: Kierra Sheard, Phaedra Parks, Anthony Brown, Lexi, John Gray, PJ Morton, Rodney Jerkins, Charlamagne The God, Fred Hammond, Quest Love, Missy Elliott, K-Ci of Jodeci, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Snoop Dogg, Travis Greene, Roland Martin, Jonathan McReynolds, Kirk Franklin, Q Parker from 112, Shep Crawford, Jonathan Nelson, Earnest Pugh, Isaac Carree, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Devon Franklin and Steven Furtick, who surprisingly knew the words to all of the songs!

To show you how many hits they have, they blessed the audience with three straight hours, although that third hour cut into The Last Dance (Michael Jordan & The Chicago Bulls documentary on ESPN) 🙂

All in all, it was amazing night full of love, light, some smart comments LOL, but most of all some great gospel music from two of the greatest to ever do it.
