Jaeson Daniel Salter a.k.a “Chef Jae” is an innovative and sought after baker who resides in West Orange, New Jersey.
As a young man, Jaeson started on an entrepreneurial venture, baking cakes and cupcakes and selling them to his classmates. That love and drive would eventually carry him throughout his college years. In 2007, he enrolled at Hudson County Community College, where he majored in Culinary Arts. It was during his tenure at HCCC that his creative ability and superlative skills would be developed. In 2010, he graduated with honors (Cum Laude).

On December 10, 2010, Chef Jae took a leap of faith and started “Jaes Cakez,” a full service dessert catering company. What originated as just a hobby would one day blossom into a full service business, where passion and potential would create palatable greatness. He contributes his passion, commitment and focus to the legacy of his father. As the company continues to evolve, Chef Jae recently sensed that it was time to solidify his appreciation for his family by changing the name to The Salter Dessert Company. The Salter Dessert Company includes a spacious variety of all occasion cake specialties, including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baby/bridal showers, graduations, christenings and more. His culinary cuisine has been sought after and savored by many, including TV commentator Jawn Murray, star of VH1’s Mob Wives Karen Gravano, NY1 news anchor Cheryl Wills, Grammy® winning gospel artist, Donnie McClurkin, and Jussie Smollet, star of Fox TV hit show Empire.

He has been afforded opportunities to be a motivational speaker for entrepreneurial workshops, as well as male mentorship programs. It is through this endeavor that he’s able to give back, share insight and encourage others to pursue their dream. In July 2017, Chef Jae was nominated, and received the “Young Men in Motion” award from The Networking Gala for his entrepreneurial achievements and dedication.
As a visionary and young business owner, Chef Jae’s desire is to bring positive awareness and a sense of respect to the younger generation, to reassure them that they can live beyond stereotypes and supersede boundaries to accomplish whatever it is in their heart to do.
