“Speechless” Songstress, Anita Wilson, Readies For High-Profile TV Appearances
Upcoming Appearances Include BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, Atlanta Live and Babbie’s House
(Chicago, IL) – Taking a heart of worship and fusing it with a passion for soul music,New Gospel Powerhouse Anita Wilson continues to create major buzz in the industry with her debut release, Worship Soul. Wilson’s lead single, “Speechless” keeps soaring up the gospel music charts and currently lands at #18 on the BDS Chart. Gospel music fans are enjoying “Speechless”, an unforgettable, passionate love song to God. The success of the new project and its lead single have opened up doors for the soulful, inspirational singer, including a number of upcoming TV appearances.
The Donald Lawrence protégée will be traveling to Washington D.C. to perform on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 4PM EST. The coveted show, hosted by gospel pioneer Dr. Bobby Jones, is now in its 32nd season and will be taping at BET Studios.
In addition, the East St. Louis native will be featured in a couple of upcoming appearances in Atlanta. She is scheduled to perform on ATLANTA LIVE on Wednesday. August 1, 2012 at 7PM EST. The program will air live on WATC-TV 57 in Atlanta and will stream live atwww.watc.tv. The following day, Wilson will also be performing on Babbie’s House, the talk show of famed Christian artist Babbie Mason. Wilson will perform two songs and sit down to talk with Mason about her debut release and her ministry. A future airdate will be announced.
Growing up as a “PK”, preacher’s kid, Wilson developed a unique flair for music at an early age. She developed her craft by merging gospel with jazz and R&B influences from artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Her unparalleled style has put her in high demand as a background singer for gospel greats such as Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, DeWayne Woods and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Most remember Wilson’s stunning vocals as a member of Donald Lawrence’s Company, specifically on the song, “Happy Being Me” from The Law of Confession CD.
She currently serves on the music staff as Praise and Worship Leader at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois, under the leadership of Pastor Charles Jenkins.
